Another hot, sunny & dry day in Houston.. As usual.. my daily routine task when I get home from work—>give my trees and vegetables a cold shower...
When it’s “Ong Choy” turn to get shower.. Saw a rare visitor resting underneath the leaf… See pictures below for details..
Photographer: Xiao Cindy
Snake Hunter: CW
“Ong Choy” also known as kongxincai (Chinese: 空心菜);water spinach, kangkung(Malay), eng chai(Hokkien), ong choy or tung choi (Cantonese pronunciation of 蕹菜)
This is our backyard visitor for the day.. “Ah 蛇”
Not sure whether it’s venomous..
According to my wife, the snake does not look like venomous, so it should be non-venomous snake. I said, OK, Sorry, won’t take a chance… grab my spade then “chop chop chop”..end of story..
All I can say is RIP “Ah 蛇”
part of the snake body after “chop chop chop”…
Fresh cut water Spinach.. Ready to cook.. Anyone interested..? ^^
